China grants 20 million Yuan to Sudan

Under the framework of the partnership between the China and Sudan, Mr. Gao Hucheng, the Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce signed a bilateral agreement with Sudan’s Minister of Finance Awad Ahmed Al-Jaz on November 30, 2008 to extend a grant aid of 20 million Chinese Yuan (3 million US dollars) to Sudan for strengthening north-south unity. China and Sudan have agreed to activate economic cooperation and trade between the two countries when the Mr. Gao hold joint meeting with Sudan counterparts.

The Sudanese minister Al-Jaz reaffirmed the strength of relations between the two countries in all fields, especially in extracting and refining oil, and he described Sudan-China relations as a success. He further said that the two countries had a successful partnership in all fields of industry and trade to serve the two peoples.

Mr. Gao hailed the growing economic and trade relations between the two countries, stressing the quest to develop economic cooperation to become a model among developing countries. He also pointed out the enormous potential of Sudan, particularly in the agricultural field.

"We are working to enforce the directives of the Chinese president during his recent visit to Sudan and introduce agricultural technology, agricultural industrialization as well as working to expand and revitalize projects, especially in the areas of infrastructure and projects of roads and bridges," Gao Hucheng said.
